The invention concerns fireproof glazings. The inventive glazings comprise an intumescent material based on hydrated alkaline silicate, formed from compositions obtained by adding to alkaline silicate solutions aqueous dispersions of colloidal silica. The intumescent materials have in particular a short drying time.
