A method for steel melting in the main open-hearth furnace with capacity more than 600 t working with scrap-ore process with blowing liquid steel by technical oxygen, comprising charge loading and warming-up, comprising hot-briquetted iron of direct reduction, pouring cast-iron, charge melting and melt finishing. Moreover, optimal duration of the period of warming-up the charge is selected depending on unit discharge of hot-briquetted iron.
