摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-luminance backlight, and a high-quality liquid crystal display using the backlight, using a light guide plate with in-plane unevenness reduced by changing patterns of light-control elements in accordance with distances from an LED on the light guide plate. <P>SOLUTION: In order to eliminate uneven distribution of luminance within the light guide plate in which luminance is high at the front of the LED and low at corner parts, it is so configured that a shape of the light control element CPN arranged at an underside of the light guide plate GLB is changed to equalize emission angles of the front of the LED and the corner parts as much as possible. A specific shape of the light control element CPN as seen from an LED emission light is to be made constant at any point so that an incident angle of the LED emission light in striking at the light control element is constant at any point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
