<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator improved so as to shorten a dimension in the vertical direction of a hoistway top part, by reducing a clearance formed between an inner wall surface of a hoistway and a side surface of a car and arranging a counterweight on its inside. <P>SOLUTION: This elevator has a driving device by forming a suspension rope 50 having one end side for suspending the car 10 and having the other end side for suspending the counterweight 20, out of a thin diameter metallic rope having a diameter less than 8 millimeters, and setting a diameter of a traction sheave 43 arranged in an upper part in the hoistway 9 and engaging with the suspension rope 50, to 300 millimeters or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
