<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a worm reduction gear having simple and inexpensive construction for allowing initial adjustment of backlash between a worm and a worm wheel and improving assembling efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: One bearing 3 for a worm shaft 1 having the worm 1a is supported by a bearing cover 5 separated from a housing 4 storing the worm 1a. The bearing cover 5 is movable relative to the housing 4 in a predetermined range to increase/reduce backlash between worm 1a and the worm wheel 2.
