<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a translation for a translation estimation target term with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The translation estimating device has a parallel-translation sentence extracting means for extracting a sentence in a first language including translation estimation target terms and a sentence in a second language corresponding to the sentence in the first language from parallel-translation sentence information when the translation estimation target terms in the first language are given, a morphological analysis/chunk analysis means for applying a morphological analysis and a chunk analysis of the extracted sentence in the second language and an n-gram counting/extracting means for preparing n-gram word strings to a word string obtained by the analyses and counting the number of appearance times of each of the n-gram word strings. In addition, the translation estimating device has a degree of correspondence calculating means for calculating the degree of correspondence between each prepared n-gram word string and the translation estimation target terms on the basis of the number of appearance times of each n-gram word string, and a candidate determining means for determining a translation of the translation estimation target terms among the respective n-gram word strings on the basis of the degree of correspondence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
