PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method or the like of a liquid jet head which can greatly suppress scattering of a liquid such as ink by a wiper part without enlarging the whole equipment. SOLUTION: The liquid jet head has a nozzle opening part which ejects the liquid, a nozzle formation part 21 equipped with the nozzle opening part, a cover part 19 for holding the nozzle formation part, and a rib part 18 for arranging the wiper part 17 for wiping a surface of the nozzle formation part. The cleaning method of the liquid jet head includes a first wiping process in which the wiper part wipes the surface of the nozzle formation part, stops when it reaches the cover part, and separates from the cover part; and a second wiping process in which, after the first wiping process, the wiper part wipes at least the cover part, stops when it reaches the rib part, and separates from the rib part.
