PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance system which can cope with the cleaning of a non-scanning liquid jet head such as a line head and a multi-head and can make a cleaning individually for every divided domain formed by dividing nozzle groups for injecting the same kind of liquid into a plural number. SOLUTION: The opposite arrangement of the maintenance system 10 is made at the lower side of a recording head system composed by arranging recording heads hound's-tooth-like, and the system concerned is composed of two or more maintenance devices 20 which are arranged in the state of adjoining each other in the same arrangement corresponding to the hound's-tooth-like arrangement of the recording head. Each maintenance device 20 is equipped with a cleaning mechanism 22 capable of going up and down. The cleaning mechanism 22 is equipped with four caps 24 corresponding to each nozzle train for injecting inks of four colors in the recording head, respectively, and four wipers 25.
