PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining members with each other which is capable of firmly joining a second member to a first member consisting of a tubular body such as a pipe. SOLUTION: A first member 1 consisting of a tubular body of a polygonal section having a hollow part 3, a second member 5 having a through hole 6 of the sectional shape corresponding to the sectional shape of the first member 1, and segmental dies 11 which are split into a plurality of segments in the circumferential direction at the position corresponding to each flat wall part 1a of the first member 1 are prepared. The first member 1 is inserted in the through hole 6 of the second member 5, and the segmental dies 11 are arranged in a hollow part 3 of the first member 1. Then, by moving each die segment 11a of the segmental dies 11 outwardly in the radial direction of the first member 1 toward each corner part 1b of the first member 1, an insertion portion 2a in the through hole 6 of the first member 1 and its portions 2b, 2b in a vicinity of both sides of the axial direction are expanded to join the first member 1 with the second member 5.
