PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine that can change the distance or the lap area between a stator and a rotor without increasing the number of components and costs and can prevent an induced voltage from increasing in high rotation. SOLUTION: A compound current is energized to a coil 12 of the stator 3 for generating a plurality of magnetic fields. A first magnetic field H1 drives the rotors 4-1, 4-4. A second one H2 operates a magnetoresistance change mechanism (the rotors 4-2, 4-3, and screw sections 25-1, 25-2). An axial gap g1 is changed between the stator 3 and the rotors 4-1, 4-4.
