PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, light, and compact battery pack for power tools as compared with a conventional one while ensuring safety. SOLUTION: The battery pack 10 for power tools has: a secondary battery 11; first and second external connection terminals 12a, 12b connected to the power tools or a charger 20 for charging/discharging the secondary battery 11; a control means 13 for monitoring the terminal voltage of the secondary battery 11 to transmit a control signal to equipment that the battery pack 10 for power tools has; and a thermistor 15 connected to the control means 13. The control means 13 generates an abnormally high-temperature state falsely by short-circuiting the thermistor 15, and operates a control circuit 21 in the charger 20 for stopping charging forcedly when it is determined that the secondary battery 11 is overcharged.
