PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ISDN adaptor connected into an ISDN line in series capable of properly releasing a carry-all state even on the occurrence of the carry-all state so as to be capable of normally handling a new transmission call and a new arrival call from a terminal unit. SOLUTION: The ISDN adaptor switches a connection destination to either of the ISDN or the IP network in response to call information from a telephone set, and uses any of a plurality of channels prepared for the ISDN to form a speech channel from the ISDN adaptor up to the telephone set. When the ISDN adaptor connects an optional telephone set among telephone sets to either of the ISDN or the IP network to form a speech path and receives the call information for designating a channel used for the speech path formed between the ISDN adaptor and a line terminator in the speech path from the line terminator, the ISDN adaptor releases the channel.
