PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing a capillary head from drying in a capillary coater for preventing an ink in a capillary head front end portion from drying when not coating, a capillary coater, and a printing device. SOLUTION: A piston 11 in an auxiliary tank 8 moves upward and the ink 9 in the auxiliary tank 8 also moves upward by an actuator 10 when not coating. Thereby, the ink 9 in an ink pan 7 moves upward and the capillary head 6 and a discharge port 6A are submerged in the ink 9. Thereby, the discharge port 6A is prevented from drying.
