PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens for optically correcting an image blur caused by a camera shake during photographing and, in particular, excellent in compactness, and to provide an imaging apparatus having the zoom lens. SOLUTION: The zoom lens 1 includes, in order from the object side, a first lens group L1 with negative refractive power and second lens group L2 with positive refractive power and varies the magnification by varying an interval between the first lens group and the second lens group. The second lens group has an object side partial group L2F with positive refractive power on the side closest to an object, and an image side partial group L2R with positive refractive power on the side closest to an image. The second lens group focuses on a nearby object by moving the object side partial group almost parallel to an optical axis (x). The second lens group corrects an image blur by moving the image side partial group almost perpendicular to the optical axis.
