PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposer with enhanced drying performance and suppressed malodor. SOLUTION: This garbage disposer is provided with: a garbage disposer chamber 21; a heat pump cycle 27 composed of a heat radiator 28, an expansion mechanism 29, an endothermic unit 30 and a compressor 31 in this order; a circulation air passage 32 circulating air through the heat radiator 28, garbage disposer chamber 21 and endothermic unit 30 in this order; a circulation air blowing means 33 forming an air stream from the endothermic unit 30 to the heat radiator 28; a drain path 34 on the downstream of the endothermic unit 30; and a cooling means 35 taking heat from the heat pump cycle 27 and circulation air passage 32. By this configuration, the circulation air heat-exchanges with the heat radiator 28 to be warm air to dry garbage 22. The warm air containing steam heat-exchanges with the endothermic unit 30 and steam is made into dew condensation and discharged. On the other hand, since the cooling means 35 takes heat from the heat pump cycle 27 and circulation air passage 32, the load to the compressor 31 is suppressed, the capacity of the compressor 31 can be used at a maximum to shorten the drying time.
