PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic or pharmaceutical for overcoming attenuation of natural protection of the skin which appears in temporal aging or aging induced by light. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the use of C-glycoside compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein S is a pyranose type and/or furanose type monosaccharide or polysaccharide or the like; X is -CO or the like; R is a 1-18C alkyl or the like, which may be substituted) for stimulating the immune system of the skin and correcting immune imbalances among population of Th-1 and Th-2 lymphocyte causing atopic or autoimmune disease. 1-(C-β-D-Xylopyranosyl)propan-2-one or 1-(C-β-D-glucopyranosyl)propan-2-one is especially preferably used as the compound (1).
