The device (10) has a box-like form with a base for receiving the argillaceous sealing compound. A plate (20) is provided over a lifting device (22) and is movable in direction of the form. The lifting device is also designed to make a movement of the plate opposite to the base at an angle, which is inclined in direction of the form. The lifting device is also designed for the movement of the plate parallel to the base in direction of the form, to form a molded article with top side parallel to the lower surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of molded article.
