The finishing assembly for a floor covering comprises: at least two different bars (1;2 / 1;3), which are positioned side by side so that they comprise at least two longitudinal surfaces (1d;2d / 1d;3d) substantially in the extension one of the other and separated by a longitudinal interstice (6); a surface coating (4) which is applied over the two bars (1;2 / 1;3) and which covers the longitudinal interstice (6) between the two bars. One (2/3) of the two bars comprises a narrow longitudinal groove (5), which is made in the mass of the bar, which is defined by two close longitudinal lateral walls and by a longitudinal bottom wall connecting the two longitudinal walls, which emerges at right angles to the longitudinal interstice (6) between the two bars, and which enables the surface covering (4) to be cut along said interstice (6).
