A pigment is provided to realize an especially pure color as well as coloring characteristics and strength optimized to the particular use including cosmetics, coating agents, films or security printing, and to impart an excellent camouflage effect. A pigment comprises: a flake-like substrate other than natural or synthetic clay minerals; and an anion-bonded layer comprising an anion-containing organic, inorganic and/or organometallic coloring agent. The flake-like substrate is selected from the group consisting of glass flakes, SiO2 flakes, synthetic or natural flake-like iron oxide, synthetic or natural graphite and/or flake-like metals. The anion-bond layer includes a layered double hydroxide. |
