<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display capable of enhancing luminance uniformity. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display displays a color image, of which one frame period is time-divided into a plurality of sections in which respectively different colors are displayed. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel and light-emitting units. The liquid crystal display panel includes gate lines and data lines intersecting with the gate lines. The light-emitting units generate lights of different colors corresponding to respective sections. The outermost light emitting unit from among the light-emitting units is driven for longer light emission time, as compared with the other light-emitting units arranged separately from the outermost light-emitting unit. Thus, luminance uniformity can be enhanced, by making the quantity of light, emitted from the light emitting unit arranged on the end part, increase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
