<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start device for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing vibration at the time of start of the internal combustion engine and surely preventing poor combustion such as misfire. <P>SOLUTION: The start device for the internal combustion engine starting the internal combustion engine by cranking the same by a motor is provided with an effective compression ratio change means 212 reducing effective compression ratio as compared to that when engine rotation speed is out of resonance rotation speed range when engine rotation speed at a time of start of the internal combustion engine is in the resonance rotation speed range and increasing effective compression ratio as compared to that when engine rotation speed is in the resonance rotation speed range when engine rotation speed exceeds the resonance rotation speed range, a combustion possibility judgment means 104 judging possibility of combustion when the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine exceeds the resonance rotation speed range, and a fuel supply control device 104 starting fuel supply when the combustion possibility judgment device 104 judges that combustion is possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
