METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING MONO LOWER ALKYL MONOALKANOL AMINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a mono lower alkyl monoalkanol amine in a high yield.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the mono lower alkyl monoalkanol amine, comprising reacting a mono lower alkyl amine with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising crystalline metallosilicate and/or a layered clay compound, is characterized by measuring the concentration of the unreacted alkylene oxide in a reaction mixture and then adjusting the supply amount of the alkylene oxide to the supply amount of the mono lower alkylene amine supplied to a reaction zone, between the reaction zone and a distillation zone for separating the reaction product of the unreacted mono lower alkylene amine with the alkylene oxide by a distillation method from the reaction mixture obtained in the reaction zone in the presence of the catalyst.
