PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recording reservation apparatus, a program recording reservation method, and a program thereof capable of enhancing detection accuracy of detecting whether or not a program of a television broadcast or the like is a re-broadcast program and preventing overlapped recording of programs of the same content. SOLUTION: The broadcast program reservation apparatus associated with one working example detects programs (comparison object program) highly similar to a reservation candidate program being a reservation candidate in future on the basis of EPG information and detects the programs (comparison object program) highly similar to the reservation candidate program being the reservation candidate in the past on the basis of the past program recording state. The apparatus establishes "settlement" or "pending settlement", that is, establishes a choice of whether or not reservation is executed by each combination of a future detection pattern and a past detection pattern. The apparatus can enhance the detection accuracy of detecting a program of a television broadcast or the like is a re-broadcast program by discriminating whether or not the recording reservation of the reservation candidate program is executed depending on a plurality of broadcast patterns to be estimated in this way.
