<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method for suppressing deterioration in picture quality to such an extent that it is not annoying while suppressing the amount of use of image formation materials. <P>SOLUTION: An input device information acquisition part 6 acquires the virtual device information of a device from an input device information storage part 8 according to an instruction from a save mode instruction part 5, and calculates a processing parameter for converting the input image data to reduce the quantity of image formation materials to be used by an output device based on the virtual device information, and transfers it to an input image data processing part 2. The input image data processing part 2 converts the input image data according to the received processing parameter. For example, the input image data are converted to such an extent that the indication of the display is relatively deteriorated, so that it is possible to suppress the deterioration in picture quality to such an extent that it is not annoying, and to reduce the amount of use of the image formation materials by not using any dark color or high saturation color which can not be displayed in accordance with the deterioration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
