<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner that can appropriately store character information or line drawing information recorded on an information medium, with small information capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A QR Code(R) Q recorded on a slip R is read, and the position of recording and a specified type of processing are extracted for line drawing information (Area (1)) and character information (Area (2) to (5)) (S22). The position to be recorded in the line drawing information and character information is identified in the image of the slip R, and the line drawing information is cutout and stored in the specified file (S30) while the character information is optically read and stored in a text file (S32).
