PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of transmission frequency, a recording medium, and a SATA-compatible apparatus which can reduce communication errors due to changes which the reference transmission frequency does not desire. SOLUTION: The control method of the transmission frequency controls a first transmit signal and a 2nd transmit signal, which are exchanged between a host that uses SATA technology and an auxiliary device. It provides a control method of the transmission frequency which includes a step which detects a first transmission frequency from the received first transmit signal, and a step which controls a second transmission frequency for the second transmission signal, based on the first transmission frequency detected.
