PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LAN communication system in which waste of system power is eliminated by controlling the power of an LAN system apparatus intermittently. SOLUTION: A power supply management server 1, an application server 2, a gate way 3, LAN wiring 4 and WAN 5 are connected, numerals 61, 62 and 63 are SW-HUBs with power supply control function, backup power supplies 7 and 8 are LAN wiring with a power supply function, numerals 91, 92, 93 and 94 are LAN apparatus, the power supply management server 1 is interlocked with an application server 82 to manage power supply and interruption of the SW-HUBs with power supply control function 61, 62 and 63, and delivers a power supply request command for designating start/stop/restart of power supply for every port or hub. Since power supply can be restarted from an HUB or a terminal, an LAN system in which power can be reduced depending on the system scale or installation mode is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
