PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel selector enabling a user to easily grasp skipped channels in skipping channel selection. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with a channel selecting unit for selecting a channel of a broadcast signal to be received in a receiving unit, and a control unit for allowing the channel selecting unit to sequentially executing channel selection in accordance with a channel selecting operation. If channels (CH221-CH223) after a subsequent order of a channel selected just before a channel selecting operation come under selection excludable channels to be specified, on the basis of channel selection information when the channel selecting unit executes sequential channel selection; the control unit allows the channel selector to execute skipping channel selection in which the channels (CH221-CH223) after the subsequent order are skipped to select a channel (CH224) of a further subsequent order not corresponding to the selection excludable channel.
