PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can perform stable tracking control by correcting an offset produced in a tracking error signal in a balanced manner even when eccentricity and tilting of an optical disk occur simultaneously. SOLUTION: An optical disk device has an optical head which detects a return light from the optical disk by dividing it into a first partial light involving primarily a zero order diffracted light by a track of the optical disk and a second partial light other than the first partial light. The optical head generates first and second tracking error signals based on the first and second partial light. The device has a calculation section which generates the tracking error signal by deducting the predetermined offset which is determined based on a correction coefficient and the first tracking error signal from the second tracking error signal. This correction coefficient has a size between a correctable value of the offset resulting from eccentricity of the optical disk, and a correctable value of the offset resulting from tilting along a radial direction of the optical disk.
