PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel tower which needs not to be periodically painted for rust prevention by employing a steel material having a nature of showing a color by the material itself, is easily maintained, and reduces a maintenance cost needed for the conventional periodic painting. SOLUTION: The steel tower employs a stainless steel material which exhibits a color after having been chemically treated, for its structure. A method for coloring the stainless steel material into a particular color tone comprises the steps of: immersing the stainless steel material in a mixture solution of sulfuric acid and chromic acid; and forming a transparent film on the surface of the stainless steel material while dissolving the surface of the stainless steel material, and changing the thickness of the film.
