PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of improving oil delivery capacity from an oil discharge hole even if the size of a piston is not changed. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine is provided with a bottomed cylindrical piston 10, an oil ring groove 14 formed on an outer circumference of the piston 10 and having an oil ring 24 installed therein, the oil discharge hole 15 of which one end part opens in the oil ring groove 14 and of which another end opens at an inner wall of the piston 10, and a connecting rod 30 connecting and driving the piston 10 and a crankshaft 50. The internal combustion engine is provided with a pump driven based on relative displacement of the piston 10 and the connecting rod 30 and sucking oil discharged from the oil discharge hole 15.
