PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine a drive element without being influenced by leakage signal from a semiconductor switch. SOLUTION: When the state of a piezoelectric element 51 is measured, a semiconductor switch 31 for large liquid droplets is set to the "ON" position, and a semiconductor switch 41 for large liquid droplets is set to the "OFF" position. Consequently, a signal generating circuit 10 is connected with the piezoelectric element 51 through the semiconductor switch 31 for large liquid droplets, and not connected with the piezoelectric element 52. In addition, a semiconductor switch 43 for small liquid droplets is set to the "ON" position, and a second switching circuit 22 is set to a terminal (b). In this case, the piezoelectric element 52 is grounded, so that the leakage signal from the semiconductor switch 41 for large liquid droplets does not run into the piezoelectric element 52 and an ammeter 62, but is outputted to the outside.
