The method involves initiating a video call of a participant terminal (1) to another participant terminal (11), and redirecting the video call to a switching device (3). The redirected video call is detected in the switching device, and a request for establishing an audio connection to the terminal (11) is output at the terminal (1) by the switching device. An audio connection between the terminal (11) and the switching device is established under maintenance of a video connection between the terminal (1) and the switching device, based on the detected instruction from the terminal (1).
