A terminal with a protocol stack bridge function and a recording medium for the same are provided to execute the unique functions of a home device, which accesses at least a cable/wireless communication network and has at least a short range communication function, and to offer a home gateway function at the same time to connect one or more short range communication terminals, located in a home, to the cable/wireless communication network in real time by mounting a logical bridge function layer, which provides a protocol stack bridge function, at the home device. A terminal(100) having a protocol stack bridge function comprises a communication processing part, a short range communication part, a bridge confirmation part(285), a protocol conversion part(280), and a bridge function part(275). The communication processing part accesses at least a cable or wireless communication network. The short range communication part connects at least a short range communication channel with a communication terminal. If a packet is transmitted through the connected short range communication channel from the communication terminal and it is received to the physical layer of a protocol stack corresponding to the short range communication part, the bridge confirmation part(285) reads the information of the received packet and confirms whether to bridge the packet to a protocol stack corresponding to the communication processing part. When it is required to bridge the packet to the protocol stack corresponding to the communication processing part, the protocol conversion part(280) converts the packet in a packet structure corresponding to the protocol stack corresponding to the communication processing part. The bridge function part(275) bridges the converted packet to the protocol stack corresponding to the communication processing part. The communication processing part transmits the bridged packet to the cable or wireless communication network.
