A transmission method of a mobile station is provided to enlarge an uplink cell coverage by adopting a switching diversity while detecting an RACH(Random Access CHannel). An OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) modulating unit(110) allocates an RACH burst into a specific subband, modulates the result, and generates an RACH burst signal. A beam forming unit(120) processes the RACH burst signal from the OFDMA modulating unit according to a predetermined beam forming pattern and transmits a generated beam to multiple reception antennas. A controlling unit(130) includes a subband controller(131), a beam forming pattern controller(132), and a power controller(133). The subband controller generates a first control signal for controlling a subband, which is allocated to the RACH burst. The beam forming pattern controller generates a second control signal for controlling the beam forming pattern of the RACH burst signal. The power controller generates a third control signal for controlling a transmission power of the RACH burst signal. |
