A floor care apparatus, such as a vacuum or suction cleaner comprises a housing (14, fig 1) with a wall 510 having a contour. A flexible membrane circuit 400 includes an adhesive side 518 that attaches the circuit to the wall 510 to generally follow the contour. A controller (430, fig 4) connects to the circuit 400 and illuminates a visual indicator 410, 412 as a relative function of the cleanliness or dirtiness of a signal of a dirt or dust sensor connected to the controller (430, fig 4). A motor (460, fig 4) is also controlled by the controller (430, fig 4) as a relative function of the dirt sensor signal. Further, the flexible membrane circuit 400 includes a side opposite 514 the adhesive side to friction fit the visual indicator against the housing (14, fig 1). Preferably, the visual indicator includes a plurality of colors, from light emitting diodes 410, 412, wherein the side opposite 514 the adhesive side 518 of the circuit connects to the light emitting diodes. |
