Adhesive tape for sticking sheet materials to the covering of a building, comprising a base material (1) with a contact adhesive coating (2), in which the tape is open to diffusion with a diffusion resistance having an s d value of not more than 12 m and the base material (1) is elastically ductile with a difference of 6-80 between the total percentage elongation under load (epsilon g) and the residual percentage elongation after loading (epsilon b).
