A masking apparatus for selectively charging a honeycomb structure is provided to guide plugging material to a selection cell by forming a guide projection formed on an upper surface of a plate. A masking apparatus for selectively charging a honeycomb structure includes a plate(158), at least one guide projection(162), at least one sealing section(160), and at least one opening portion(110a). The at least one guide projection protrudes from the plate to an upper direction and guides inflow of plugging material. The at least one sealing section protrudes from the plate to a lower direction, and is inserted in a cell opening portion of the honeycomb structure to seal a cell of the honeycomb structure. The at least one opening portion functions as a passage for introducing the plugging material in the cell of the honeycomb structure.
