A composition for improving hair health is provided to treat dandruff and inflammation in the scalp, maintain the healthy scalp and hair, and delay the time of hair into a degeneration phase, thereby preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. A method for preparing the composition for improving hair health comprises the steps of: heating 2.0-6.0 wt.% of Acorus gramineus SOLAND., 0.5-1.0 wt.% of Polygonum multiflorum Thunberg, 0.5-1.0 wt.% of Portulaca oleracea, 0.5-1.0 wt.% of Schizandra chinensis BAILL., 0.5-1.0 wt.% of Artemisia argyi LEV., 0.1-0.5 wt.% of green leaf and 0.05-0.10 wt.% of Saururus chinensis Baill in 90-95 wt.% of purified water to prepare crude extracts of medicinal herbs; extracting 0.5-1.0 wt.% of green leaf, 0.5-2.0 wt.% of Schizandra chinensis BAILL. and 0.5-1.0 wt.% of Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH. in 94-98 wt.% of alcohol and adding 0.1-2.0 wt.% of L-menthol and 0.05-0.10 wt.% of glycerin into the mixture to prepare a catalyst mixture; and mixing 86.63 parts by weight of crude extracts of medicinal herbs with 13.37 parts by weight of catalyst mixture.
