There is disclosed a novel solvent-depletion process for making an avermecti n/zein composition and the composition itself, which has excellent photostability and unexpected bioavailability to foliar-feedin g insects. The process consists of depleting a dilute ac idic, basic or alcoholic solvent from an emulsified solution of avermectin, zein, and di lute solvent.
