A method for bending a self-regulating cable and a heating mat for protecting overheating are provided safely to use the heating mat by easily maintaining a predetermined temperature regardless of environment and condition. A heating mat for protecting overheating includes a heating device(130), a controlling unit(140), and an exterior material(110). The heating device(130) maintains a predetermined temperature by the applied power. The controlling unit(140) is electrically connected to the heating device(130), and controls the power supplied to the heating device(130). The exterior material(110) covers the heating device(130). The heating device(130) is a self-regulating cable. The heating device(130) has a pair of wires inside an insulating film by the medium of a semi-conductive polymer.
