A construction method of a block type reinforced earth retaining wall is provided to prevent the loss of soils from a banking area or a cutting area, to drain off incoming water from the backside of blocks to the front by forming horizontal and vertical drain grooves on blocks, and to construct a reinforced earth retaining wall easily in a straight or curved direction by forming a crack prevention groove to the center of a block and inserting a T-shaped connection member between blocks. A construction method of a block type reinforced earth retaining wall comprises the steps of building up many blocks(100) in a straight or curved line, building up other blocks on the lowermost block in a multilayer or the type of stairs, inserting a T-shaped connection member(200) to each block and installing grids on the multilayered blocks. The block has a head of a body, a side, a tail(130) and a space(140), wherein a vertical groove is formed on a place where the head and the body are in contact with each other to be connected with the side, a horizontal drain groove(150) and a vertical drain groove(160) are formed on the top of the head and the front top of the body at regular intervals, a crack prevention groove is formed on the top of the head and the front top and the bottom of the body to have step height, and a shear key groove is formed to the center of the crack prevention groove. The T-shaped connection member has wings(220) projected to two sides of a square pillar(210) and projections(230) projected in the longitudinal direction and inserted to the shear key groove of the block to generate shear force when the body of the block moves by earth pressure. |
