A display substrate and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to increase an electric capacitance value inversely proportion to thickness by forming thickness of a first gate insulation film thinly, thereby reducing area size of first and second capacitor electrodes and implementing high aperture ratio. A display substrate comprises the following units: a gate pattern including a gate line which is formed along a first direction on a base substrate(110), a first capacitor electrode(STE1), and a gate electrode which is divided from the gate line; a first gate insulation film which is formed in a gate pattern; a second gate insulation film including a hole which exposes the first gate insulation film on the first capacitor electrode; a source pattern including a source line which is formed along a second direction, a source electrode which is divided from the source line, and a second capacitor electrode which is oppositely formed against the hole and a drain electrode; and a pixel electrode(PE) which is electrically connected to the drain electrode. |
