A device for controlling an address in an I2C protocol is provided to shorten access time to a function block and offer a simultaneous access capability in a short time. A device for controlling address in an I2C protocol comprises an I2C slave(210), a bank select resistor(240), a plurality of resistor banks(230,250) and a function block(260). The I2C slave receives and transmits data via an I2C master(100), a serial clock line and a serial data line. The bank select resistor is capable of setting a bank select address depending on an input data if the address applied from the I2C slave is a specific address. The plural resistor banks is selected by one depending on the bank select address, wherein the read/write operation of the resistor bank is controlled by the I2C slave, and the resistor bank is capable of reading/writing data in the required address by the I2C slave. The function block receives and transmits data with plural resistor banks and controls the internal operation of a chip.
