A biological advanced treatment apparatus of domestic sewage or wastewater is provided to enable nitrification to be performed sufficiently after removing most of organic matters by separating aerobic heterotrophic bacteria for removing organic matters and autotrophic bacteria for nitrifying nitrogen compounds as dominant species. A biological advanced treatment apparatus of domestic sewage or wastewater comprises: an anoxic reactor(20) which maintains an anoxic state to remove simultaneously nitrogen and organic materials and release phosphorous by denitrifying a nitrification solution using organic materials contained in domestic sewage or wastewater, and which contains denitrifying bacteria for denitrifying the nitrification solution using the organic materials; an aerobic reactor(30) comprising a first biofilm filtration tank(31) including a filter media to which aerobic heterotrophic bacteria are attached as a dominant species to remove organic matters contained in water to be treated that has flown in through the anoxic reactor, a second biofilm filtration tank(32) including a filter medium to which aerobic heterotrophic bacteria and autotrophic bacteria are attached to remove residual organic matters contained in water to be treated that has flown in through the first biofilm filtration tank and nitrify nitrogen compounds contained in the water to be treated that has flown in respectively, and a third biofilm filtration tank(33) including a filter medium to which autotrophic bacteria are attached as a dominant species to nitrify nitrogen compounds contained in water to be treated that has flown in through the second biofilm filtration tank; and a return means(50) for returning a nitrification solution in the aerobic reactor to the anoxic reactor.
