FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in anti-glare systems for safety, particularly for transport safety. The filter consists of saw-toothed structures, at least one radiation receiver, threshold sensor for fixing the direction of the incoming external radiation incident on the filter, processor for processing results, and at least one control device. Between the saw-toothed structures there is a birefringent substance on liquid crystal. The opposite surface of the filter contains system of optically transparent electrodes, layout of which varies. The processor for processing results processes the signals from the sensor for fixing direction and passes on the corresponding signals to the control device. From the output of this device, the signals distributed between the systems of electrodes, with local modulation of the resultant electrical fields. Molecules of the birefringent substance, which have an initial orientation for which the external optical radiation passes through it without impedance, change their orientation in space. In that case, the external optical radiation, which has corresponding orientation in the polarisation plane, is reflected from the birefringent substance. ^ EFFECT: design of an effective anti-glare filter with minimum losses and adapted to glaring radiation sources. ^ 15 cl, 19 dwg |
