A methane collecting water tank for a water power plant of an environment-friendly river and lake is provided to reduce the greenhouse effect and environmental contamination due to the methane. In a methane collecting water tank for a water power plant for an environment-friendly river and lake, an outflow opening(230) of the water power plant is connected to one end thereof. A discharge opening is formed at a lower portion of the other end of the water tank. A suction opening(311) to which a gas pump(310) is connected is formed at an upper portion of the other end of the water tank. A partition wall crossing the water tank is installed in the interior of the water tank. An upper portion of the water tank is made of a transparent plate.
