Use of amidosulfobetain type zwitterionic hemifluorinated compound (I), as surfactants for the extraction and/or the solubilization of protein from tissue and cellular membrane in the presence of optionally fluorinated agents or electrolytes. Use of amidosulfobetain type zwitterionic hemifluorinated compound (I) of formula (F-(CF2)l-(CH2)m-C(=O)-NH-(CH2)n-N+>(CH3)2-(CH2)p-SO3->), as surfactants for the extraction and/or the solubilization of protein from tissue and cellular membrane in the presence of optionally fluorinated agents or electrolytes. l : 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10; m : 2-12, preferably 2-10; and n, p : >=1, preferably equal to 3. Independent claims are included for: (1) an application of (I), in the field of proteomic analysis, using 2-D electrophoresis technique and optionally in combination with other surfactants and electrolytes; and (2) a process of extraction and/or solubilization of tissue, cellular and membrane proteins in the presence of optionally fluorinated agents or electrolytes, using (I).
