A device for treating an image is provided to prevent an image data from being damaged when electric power is cut off by external shock and to store information of a vehicle safely by storing the image date of a virtual memory unit to a detachable memory unit when in emergency. A device for treating an image comprises an image treating unit(310), a sensing unit(350), a power unit(320), a virtual memory unit(330), a storing unit(340), a detachable memory unit(360), and a control unit(400). The control unit stores the image of the image treating unit to the storing unit on the basis of sensed information of the sensing unit when stopping or driving a vehicle. The control unit stores an image data of the virtual memory unit to the detachable memory unit when in emergency. The control unit cuts off power of each unit except for the virtual memory unit, the detachable memory unit and the control unit on the basis of information of the sensing unit when in emergency. The sensing unit has at least one sensor detecting environment of the vehicle. The virtual memory unit stores the image data temporarily. The detachable memory unit backs up the image date when in emergency.
