<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film with capable of more improving the availability of light energy by increasing the luminance of a display device using a light source. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film 1 is constructed by laminating a plurality of stretched films 11 via adhesive layers 12. Each of the stretched films 11 has a continuous phase 11a and dispersed phases 11b dispersed in the continuous phase 11a. The dispersed phases 11b are dispersed in such a way that their axial directions are uniformly oriented toward a predetermined direction (x-direction) in the continuous phase 11a. The refractive index of the dispersed phases 11b is set to be consistent with that of the adhesive layers 12 and that of the stretched films 11 in a direction (y-direction) vertical to the stretching direction (x-direction).
